I finished yesterday with about a thousand new words. Hard to call, really, for reasons I outlined yesterday. Getting a little more settled now. I’ll claim 600 new words this morning and expecting maybe 500 more before calling it a day. We’ll see. I’ve got a chore or two to deal with, and then maybe get some more in later this afternoon.
As far as the work goes, I’m spending time going back through books 3 and 6 in order to keep a feel going. For those familiar with the series, book 8 is set almost exclusively in Esgarat—the local name for the Alpha Centauri system planet one of the characters eventually finds himself on). This means there’s a not inconsiderable amount of off-world culture and alien to bring properly to the page. This means I’m spending time researching that isn’t going directly to word count…but that’s fine. I like getting back into this world.
Looks like Brigid got 1.200 words yesterday, which is cool, too.
And, yeah, did I mention she has a brand new book out?
