So I spent the day working on the collection. I’m having a blast putting it all together. I haven’t gone back and read these stories in quite some time, and I’m finding lots of great memories buried in them. I’ve had a couple laugh-out-loud moments (in good ways), and have just had a generally fun […]
It’s all just a matter of engineering now, eh?
Gotta love the idea of walking a mile an hour while you’re working. I guess this means that Kevin Anderson has the right idea, as he’s known to write via dictation during his daily walks. Progress: I gathered up and formatted the stories I expect will comprise the collection. I may slot a story or […]
Lots of progress on this stormy morning. First, as hoped, the novel rewrite is complete. Though I always reserve the writers’ option of deciding I stink later, I’m pretty pleased with this as I sit here this morning. The story feels good now, and I figure you only get to say a novel is complete […]
A few days ago, I said I had four things to address to consider the novel ready. This morning I finished the third. So, theoretically, one more morning and this one will be done.

Not that you’re likely to hear it hear first, but Mur Lafferty is the new editor at Escape Pod. As with all editorial changes, it will be interesting to see how this alters the content of this podcast. Progress Update: I mentioned last night that I had four areas of weakness in the novel I’ve […]
Earlier this afternoon, I formally finished the rewrite of this novel, which makes me very happy. Even better, now that I’ve had my hands deeply inside it for a bit, I have set aside a total of four notes that I’m not overly happy about, and plan to work on a bit–all four of them […]
I’m terribly excited to note that I’ve agreed in principle with The Merry Blacksmith Press to publish a collection of my short stories. I’ll be working to create the lineup here in the next few days, and I expect a title will shortly follow. I will, of course, post more as progress is made.
If you know me, you know I make my real living in the corporate world. I’m involved in implementing multinational, global programs that span a bunch of functions and generally deal with technology development–something that probably sounds a bit more … er … glamorous than maybe it is. Dunno. It’s what I do, so maybe […]
