Good morning at the keyboard. Completed the first draft of what I’m calling the Golf Ball story, though there is no way in heck that title will remain. Also made my way through about the first third of it as a line-edit. I expect the back half will need a bit more of a face-lift to make the ending work, but overall I like the basic feel of the piece.

One of the first things people say when they first come into our house is often “man, you guys have a lot of books.” This is because, well, because we have a lot of books. Here’s a picture of one corner of our house.
When Brigid’s boyfriend (then) and fiancé (now) first came to the place, he reports now that he first thought we had a lot of books, then he went further into the place and saw Brigid’s collection in her room, and then the three areas of book shelves we have in the basement, and well … you guys have a lot of books.
The electronic age may well change this in the future, of course. I don’ think Lisa, for example, hasn’t bought a paper book for a couple years now. I find myself reading paper books, but not being particularly excited about it. I would prefer the Kindle.
That said, I came across this link on the bloggess‘s page that I thought was just about awesome. I guess they don’t call it bookshelf porn for nothing.
