I’ve been working on a short story for several days, and not getting very far. I stepped back and started over with a different idea this morning, and things seem to be flowing quite well. I managed to complete considerably over a thousand words completed, and found a pair of characters who seem pretty interesting. They’re popping for me now.
I’ve found that when characters pop, I’m generally on the right track. If nothing else, writing about them has been fun.
Alas, though, it is time to pack up and prepare for the work day. Such is the life of the part-time writer, eh?
