Among all the hecticity going on (have I mentioned that my little girl is getting married here … maybe not), I’m pleased to note that Trevor Quachri at Analog has let me know he’s interested in publishing my story “Survivors.”. Contracts still to be signed, but we’ve somehow managed to complete that stage several times in the past, so I don’t foresee any issues.
This was a third story I wrote for a workshop in Oregon, and was written quite quickly in one afternoon (with only a little rework afterward) on a dare that Lisa Silverthorne and I took together to write a story about something we were looking at as we returned to the rooms. I saw a drawing of a clam.
It’s becoming quite a year for my short fiction.
