This “novel in two months” Dare has an interesting vibe to it. I think it’s coming at the right time. If you’re following this at all, you’ve got the general gist of things. I have so many things to get done, you see—both simply to live life as well as to get my feet under me professionally. To get them all done, I can’t just sit down and write with my heart afire like I normally would with the standard one-month Dare.
Today, for example, I’m still working to finish my little project I mentioned yesterday, and I spent another hour on a cover for the “On Writing” book I’ve been developing. I’m also thinking about taking some time to finish a cover for the box set of my Collins Creek project … have I mentioned that one, yet? I don’t recall (geez, do I have a lot of cool writing projects going on!).
And this afternoon I’ll be getting my hair cut, and picking up cat food—yes, he says to Sophie, cat food is good—and probably making another stop or two.
This means I might or might not get more words in on STARDUST this afternoon. We shall see.
But since I wrote before doing all the other things, I did progress about 1,100 words this morning. In ding so, I got into the head of one of the “main characters” who I really haven’t spent much time with. She’s fun, and in the end, she’s really going to be important to the whole danged project. So it’s already been a good day.
I’ll update here though—because I’m not sure I’ll get a chance to otherwise. If I get more words before the day is out, I’ll catch up on the next rock. For now, though, it’s off to lunch.
